Our code of conduct

Our corporate self-image is based on respecting the dignity and personality of every individual, not tolerating any form of discrimination and protecting our environment, natural resources and human health. We have set out these and other values in a code of conduct.

  • The code is binding for all employees.
  • It regulates business principles, compliance with the law, dealings with business partners and third parties, the avoidance of conflicts of interest, compliance with protective regulations, the protection of information, the handling of assets and dealings with each other.
  • Violations of the compliance guidelines or human rights violations can be reported at any time to our dedicated helpline.
  • The helpline is available in 17 languages at helpline-werhahn.de.

Diversity in the workforce

Diversity stands for a very broad spectrum of skills, experience and perspectives. We foster an open corporate culture in which employees are valued and can develop their potential regardless of age, ethnic origin, nationality, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, social background, physical/mental abilities and world view.

Due diligence in the supply chain

We are committed to the law on corporate due diligence to prevent human rights violations and protect the environment in supply chains (“LkSG”).

As part of our risk management, we implement the following measures, among others:

  • Our Code of Conduct for Suppliers defines the requirements and principles in terms of the LkSG and is binding for any cooperation. Our suppliers must fulfill all legal requirements and comply with human rights and environmental standards not only in their own business area, but also along their supply chain.
  • We operate a systematic risk management system.
  • A complaints hotline offers the opportunity to report violations.
  • We sensitize our employees to the due diligence obligations of the LkSG. To this end, training courses are held to reduce specific risks as far as possible.

Occupational safety and health

Occupational safety, protection against physical and psychological hazards and maintaining the health of all employees are our top priority. A particular focus is on preventing accidents at work and reducing particulate emissions in the extraction and production process.

A risk management system with regular audits helps to reduce accidents at work to an absolute minimum and improve health protection.

In-house and external monitoring by safety officers, regular training, safety instructions and the consistent implementation of occupational health and safety regulations are an integral part of our approach. We also analyse potential hazards and continuously adapt our work processes to further minimize the risk of health hazards and accidents.
